Young virgins, smiling angels, refined drapes and tender light make Fra Filippo Lippi the master of an intimate and lyrical Florentine Renaissance.

Fra Filippo Lippi was born in Florence around 1406 and, having become an orphan, was entrusted to the Carmelite convent of Santa Maria del Carmine. He takes his vows there but above all discovers Masaccio's revolutionary frescoes in the Brancacci chapel. From Masaccio, he retains the volume, the light and the human presence of the figures.
