The figure emerges from the dark interior above a flowering garden

The window forms a large, almost black rectangle, bordered to the left and right by brick red shutters. Camille occupies the lower part of this opening. Her face, her headdress and the yellow flowers she holds become the three luminous accents that prevent the figure from disappearing into the shadows.

The edge is invaded by white, blue, red and orange pots and bouquets. The short touches multiply downwards then rise into the foliage on the right. The garden thus seems to advance in front of the facade, while the large vertical surfaces of the shutters maintain a firm structure.

The portrait does not separate Camille from her environment: shutters, interior shade, pots and flowers together build a presence that is both intimate and intensely colorful.
