The subject of the work
The figure and the decor become one
A couple embraces themselves at the edge of a flowery meadow, wrapped in a golden mantle whose rectangles, circles and spirals distinguish the two figures.
The group forms an almost square mass, isolated against a golden background. Faces and hands concentrate emotion while ornament merges bodies.
Composition, ornament & color
An image constructed like a setting
At Klimt, the decor does not only serve as a background: it organizes the gaze, carries the symbols and gives the figures their presence.
01
The motive

02
The organization of the gaze

03
The palette and the material
Gold dominates, punctuated with black, white and floral colors; light flesh provides a soft and immediate contrast.

Presentation tips
Bring Klimt's ornament into dialogue with your interior
This square composition naturally finds its place on a clear wall or above a base unit. Warm, side light reveals painted material and contrasts without creating a frontal reflection.
