The Flower Meadow W996hand painted reproduction
A tall meadow, strewn with yellows, pinks and whites, fills the entire foreground. Two children play near the edge: one almost in the center, the other smaller on the left, both reduced to a few dark touches. Behind them, large trees stand out under a gray-blue sky with heavy clouds. Behind them, large trees stand out under a gray-blue sky with heavy clouds. Look at the work
Prairie absorbs children in flower and herb material
The field occupies more than half of the composition and rises to the figures. The long vertical touches in the foreground suggest tall stems; further on, they tighten and change scale, causing children to move back towards the edge.
On the left, a large clump of dark trees enters the image and forms an irregular vault. The center remains more open around an isolated tree, then the right group closes the horizon; the pink gray sky appears between these silhouettes without becoming a simple background.
The children do not trigger any specific anecdote: their small size measures the height of the grass and makes the meadow, its light and its suggested scent the real subject.
Composition, touch and light
What Monet builds behind the impression of snapshot
Three precise elements allow us to understand this composition and the essential difficulties of faithful reproduction.
01
A meadow made almost tangible
The green, yellow, pink and white lines retain their direction and thickness. Their accumulation makes the stems, flowers and differences in density of the land felt.
02
Two figures reduced to scale marks
Their light hats and dark clothing are enough to distinguish them. Placed at different distances, they accentuate the depth without interrupting the plant rhythm.
03
An edge open by the sky
The trees are massive but separated by luminous passages. These gray-blue intervals prevent the horizon from becoming a dark wall and allow air to circulate above the field.

Read this specific version
The only official image from Museum Barberini is kept at 3,000 × 2,431 px then encoded as a real WebP, without enlargement beyond the definition provided.
Composition01
Maintain the great height of the herbs
The meadow must reach the figures and fill the foreground. Flowers that are too short or too regular would cause the immersion described by the museum to be lost.
Color02
Preserve the roses in the green
Pink touches aren't just identifiable flowers: they warm the entire surface and balance the cold greens of the trees.
Matter03
Keep children very small and basic
They must remain integrated into the landscape. Faces or clothing that are too detailed would shift attention to a narrative absent from W996.
Documented benchmarks
Three pieces of information specific to this work
The Museum Barberini preserves La Prairie fleurie, unsigned oil on canvas from 1885, 65 × 80.5 cm, inventory MB-Mon-20 and Wildenstein 996.
Giverny01
The rural landscape around Monet's house
Established since 1883, Monet first explored the meadows, paths and edges of the village before his landscaped garden became his main motif.
Subject02
Children playing in the tall grass
The museum notice emphasizes the sensory role of the meadow: the touch conveys the height of the strands, the heat of the day and the impression of fragrant vegetation.
Recent origin03
Acquisition after the Sotheby's sale on May 14, 2019
The work, formerly in several French and American collections, joined the Hasso Plattner Collection and received the number MB-Mon-20.

What the painter must preserve
Fidelity here depends on precise relationships between light, touch, depth and color temperature.
This horizontal landscape is suitable for a living room, bedroom or dining room. A forest green, gray pink or pearl gray wall and a natural wood frame extend its balance between freshness and plant warmth.
