The Crossroads Arts District grew up around warehouses reinvested by artists and remains the heart of the local market. Nearby, the Nelson-Atkins, the Kemper and the Kansas City Art Institute form a major museum and educational hub. 18th & Vine, the Westside and the East Side place art in African-American and Latin history, while Overland Park, Prairie Village and Leawood develop a complementary offering on the Kansas side.
