Understanding the Las Vegas art scene
From the 18b Arts District to The Strip galleries
Las Vegas' art scene operates by contrasts. The 18b Arts District cultivates workshops, independent venues and group events. The Strip brings together museums, photography, pop art and shopping malls; UNLV brings together research and emerging artists. To the West and in the Valley, Summerlin, North Las Vegas and Henderson add libraries, cultural centers, workshops and local galleries.
Start with the calendar
First Friday hosts the 18b Arts District, but institutions, campuses and shopping malls follow their own schedules. Check current exhibitions and editing periods before you leave.
