Understand the Lyon scene
An artistic geography between Presqu'île, slopes and left bank
Rue Auguste Comte and the Ainay district concentrate several private galleries; the quays of Saône and the Terreaux bring together art schools, associative places and research spaces; the slopes of Croix-Rousse cultivate photography and artist initiatives. To the east, Part-Dieu, Guillotière and Gerland widen the route, while Villeurbanne brings together the IAC, art libraries and the URDLA workshops. Vaise, la Duchère and Fourvière complete this map with heritage and territorial places.
Check today's exposure
The galleries often close between two clashes and several places only open in the afternoon. Check the official website or the Adele network before you go.
Group visits by area
Ainay, the Terreaux and the slopes can be covered well on foot. For the Duchère, the macLYON or Villeurbanne, combine metro, tram and walking.
Enter without intimidation
Access to the galleries is generally free. Asking for a room sheet, the price of a work or details on an artist is an integral part of the visit.
