Luis Ricardo Falero was born in Granada in 1851. Intended first for the navy, he abandoned this path and went to Paris, where his interest was divided between painting, mechanics, chemistry and astronomy. He finally chose art, but retained from his scientific research a lasting taste for celestial phenomena and light effects. Falero specializes in academic compositions populated by female figures, witches, allegories, comets and orientalist subjects.
