Piero di Lorenzo, called Piero di Cosimo after his master Cosimo Rosselli, was born in Florence in 1462 and died there in 1522. Entering Rosselli's studio, he accompanied him to Rome in 1481 and 1482 for the decorations of the Sistine Chapel.
