Santiago Rusiñol I Prats was born in Barcelona in 1861 and died in Aranjuez in 1931. Heir to a family of industrialists, he chose the life of an artist, painted, wrote, collected and actively participated in the birth of Catalan modernism. In the 1880s, he traveled Catalonia with Ramon Casas and discovered the outdoors.
