How to read photographs
General view, details and work steps
A single photograph is not always enough to judge a painting. It is necessary to observe the composition from a distance, the sensitive areas up close and, when possible, the successive stages of production.
Composition and presence
It allows you to evaluate the proportions, color balance, depth and overall effect of the canvas.
Faces, material and details
It reveals the skin tones, expressions, drapes, contours and direction of brushstrokes.
Actual image construction
They show the transition from drawing to large masses, then to colors, details and finishes.
The original work, a decorative simulation and a completed reproduction should not be confused. When a reference image is presented, it is clearly identified.

A hand-painted reproduction seeks to rediscover the composition, proportions, colors, light and atmosphere of the work. It nevertheless retains small natural variations of touch and detail.
For many adapted works, the goal of fidelity is usually around 90-95%. The result depends on the quality of the reference, format, number of figures, complexity and style of the original.

Do the photographs show real achievements?
Yes. The galleries, close-ups and stages presented as creations come from files from the workshop. Hokusai's original image is clearly marked as a reference work.
Why do some paintings appear twice?
Some works are shown under two frames or two lights in order to check the rendering. They are identified as several views of the same canvas, and not as retouching steps.
Will my canvas be exactly the same as these examples?
No. Each reproduction is painted manually. The examples illustrate the level of work, but the painter's work, format, reference and hand influence the result.
Can we obtain a 100% identical copy?
An absolute identity corresponds to a mechanical reproduction. A manual painting aims for strong fidelity while retaining natural variations of touch, nuance and detail.
Will I receive photos of my order?
Yes. Photographs of your finished canvas are sent before shipping so you can check the rendering.
Can I request touch-ups?
Yes. Up to four sets of reasonable touch-ups may be requested prior to sending.
Is the canvas delivered framed?
It is generally shipped rolled and without a frame in order to limit risks during transport. It can then be stretched on a chassis and framed locally.
