Our content is informative and practical. They help to understand a work, discover an artist, compare styles or prepare the choice of a painting.
Accessible and useful content
Biographies, analyzes of works, historical landmarks, thematic selections, decoration advice and explanations on hand-painted reproduction.
Reference scientific work
Our articles do not replace a catalog raisonné, an official museum notice, an attribution expertise, an academic publication or a legal opinion.
Distinguish three levels of information
Documented fact, aesthetic interpretation and practical advice must remain identifiable as content of a different nature.
Hierarchy of sources
The references we favor
The reliability of a source depends on the subject matter. A museum notice preserving the work will generally be given priority for its title, dimensions, technique and attribution.
Museums, public collections and institutions
Notices of works, collection bases, national archives, libraries, artist foundations and institutions responsible for conservation or documentation.
Catalogs raisonnés and recognized works
Exhibition catalogs, university editions, monographs, scientific articles and work of identified researchers.
Educational resources and specialized press
Summary content useful for explaining a movement, an era or the reception of a work, after verification of precise data.
Wikipedia and general platforms
They may help identify leads, title variations or bibliographic references, but should not constitute the final source or sole basis for a specific factual assertion.
We favor the source most directly responsible for the work or documentary collection, then the most recent and best supported reference. When disagreement cannot be resolved, it must be reported.

Five steps before a major release or update
The level of research varies by subject. A work analysis requires more historical verification than a practical guide to the dimensions of a painting.

Research, synthesis and adaptation
The content is structured to be understandable by a non-specialist reader, without hiding important limitations or debates.

Validation before publication
Alpha Reproduction remains responsible for the content published, the corrections made and the transparency on the commercial nature of its site.

Selections and rankings
A "Top" or selection reflects editorial criteria such as notoriety, influence, visual quality or decorative interest. This is not a universal scientific ranking.
Availability of a reproduction
Presenting a work in an article does not automatically guarantee its commercial availability. Applicable rights, feasibility and catalog rules are examined separately.
Content of a different nature
An editorial guide, a product sheet, a press release, a partner publication and a customer review must not be presented as equivalent content.

Clearly identify the nature of each visual
A reference work, a truly painted reproduction and a decorative simulation do not show the same thing.

Image used to present the original painting, its subject or composition.

Photograph of a reproduction actually painted by Alpha Reproduction.
Decorative simulation
Scenario intended to visualize an atmosphere or proportions in a room.
Origin of images
We use photographs from the workshop, files from our media library, works in the public domain or resources whose conditions allow their intended use.
Credits and corrections
When the context requires it, the source or credit is indicated. A rights holder, institution or reader can report a credit error or problematic use.
Dates and updates
Content may change
A correction, a more recent source, a modified link or a new organization may lead to updating an article.
Initial date
It indicates the entry of content on the site when the page template displays it.
Update date
It may be modified when content is significantly enriched, restructured or corrected.
Links and practical information
Old pages may be revised to remove a faulty link, clarify wording, or update information.

Have you spotted an error or questionable attribution?
Send the relevant URL, the specific passage, the proposed correction and, where possible, an institutional or bibliographic source. Each request is reviewed and the content is corrected when the report is justified.

Is a correction still visible in a public history?
Not necessarily. Corrections can be integrated directly into content. A major update may result in a date change, but not every minor change is the subject of a detailed public log.
