Choose the work and prepare the project
Start with the work, desired width and intended location. The workshop then checks the proportions and feasibility.
How to order a reproduction?
Choose a work from the catalog, select the dimensions offered then place an order. For a missing work, a particular format or an adaptation, use the page Custom reproduction.
Can you paint a work missing from the catalog?
Yes, when it is technically feasible and its reproduction is authorized. Send a good quality image, the name of the artist, the title if you know it and the desired dimensions.
Can all works be reproduced?
No. Feasibility depends on reference, complexity, format and applicable rights. As part of our commercial policy, we generally refuse artists who died after 1956.
How do I choose the right size for my wall?
Measure the wall and the cabinet underneath, then test the surface with tape. Above a sofa or sideboard, about 60-75% of the width of the cabinet is often a good place to start. Check it out dimensions guide.
Can I send a photo of my wall?
Yes. A photo taken from the front, accompanied by the width of the wall and the furniture, allows you to offer one or two coherent formats.
Achievement and quality
Real oil painting
The result is manual artistic work and not industrial printing identical to a digital file.
Is the reproduction printed on canvas?
No. The canvas is hand painted with oil paint. The guide Oil painting or printing explains how to distinguish techniques.
Will the copy be 100% identical to the original?
No. A manual reproduction naturally has small variations. For many adapted works, the fidelity goal is generally around 90-95%, depending on complexity, detail and format.
How long does it take to paint the canvas?
The production generally takes around two weeks, depending on the work and dimensions. It then takes approximately five days of drying before final validation and shipping.
Does the painting still have a lot of relief?
No. Glacis, classic and fused portraits can be smooth, while some impressionist works have a more visible touch.
How to judge quality before ordering?
Check them out reproductions actually made. Close-ups and material views are more useful than a simple decorative simulation.
Dimensions and framing
Adapt the canvas without distorting the work
The width and height are linked by the original proportions. Any special dimensions are checked before production.
Can I ask any dimension?
The dimensions are customizable, but they must remain compatible with the proportions of the work and the technical possibilities. The workshop can recalculate the corresponding height or width.
Do you make very large formats?
Yes, formats up to approximately 200 cm can be considered depending on the work, its proportions, its complexity and shipping constraints.
Can we crop a work to fit my wall?
Cropping is only possible when it remains consistent with the composition. We favor maintaining the height-width ratio.
Does the dimension shown include the frame?
It generally corresponds to canvas. A decorative frame increases the exterior bulk and must be added when testing on the wall.
Is the canvas delivered on a frame?
It is generally shipped rolled to reduce risk. Frame mounting and framing can then be done locally.
Delivery
A protected shipment after your agreement
The canvas is prepared for sending only after validation of the photographs and completion of the necessary drying.
How is the paint packaged?
The canvas is generally rolled with suitable protection, then placed in rigid packaging to limit shocks and deformations.
What is the transport time?
After shipment, delivery by FedEx generally takes approximately two to five business days depending on destination and local formalities.
Will I receive a tracking number?
Yes. Tracking information is communicated after the package has been picked up.
Can taxes or customs fees apply?
Depending on the country, taxes, duties or processing fees may be requested by the authorities or the carrier.
What to do if the package arrives damaged?
Photograph the packaging, labels, damage and canvas. Contact the workshop quickly without throwing away the protections. Also consult the page Delivery.
Validation and retouching
You see the canvas before it is shipped
Photo validation allows you to check the general rendering and request reasonable corrections before sending.
When will I receive photos of my painting?
They are sent when the production is completed and sufficiently advanced to be controlled. The canvas is not shipped before your agreement.
Can I request touch-ups?
Yes. You can report specific points to be corrected. Up to four sets of reasonable touch-ups may be requested prior to shipment.
How to make an effective retouching request?
Number the points, circle the affected areas and compare them to the reference. Accurate instructions are easier to convey to the artist.
Is one photo enough to judge all the colors?
No. Lighting and screen may change colors. A video or multiple photographs in different light can complete the control.
What happens if there is persistent disagreement?
The situation is examined according to the progress of the work and the requests already made. Check the page Returns and retouching.
Images and catalog
Understand the visuals of the site
A reference work, a truly painted canvas and a decorative simulation are not of the same nature.
Reference work
It presents the original composition used to prepare the reproduction.
Workshop realization
Photograph of a canvas actually painted by Alpha Reproduction.
Decorative simulation
Visual intended to show an ambiance or approximate size in a room.
Will the image in the catalog be exactly that of my canvas?
No. The catalog may present the original, a previous creation or a simulation. The decisive proof remains the photograph of the canvas produced for your order.
Can I request another reference image?
Yes, especially when there are several versions or framing. Send the precise reference before painting begins.
How do I know it's not an impression?
Request close-ups, moving light video, and edge views. Consult the guide Oil painting or printing.
Payment and quote
Finalize a standard or custom order
Special projects can be studied before payment to confirm dimensions, price and feasibility.
Is online payment secure?
Payment is processed in the secure Shopify store environment. Available options appear at checkout.
How to get a tailor-made quote?
Send image, dimensions, country of delivery and your special requests from the page Custom reproduction.
Can I request an invoice?
Yes. Provide the necessary contact details when ordering or contact the workshop with the relevant reference.
Does the price vary depending on complexity?
For a very complex composition, a large format or a major modification, a personalized quote may be necessary.
