Fragile nets rise above a sea laden with foam

The vertical and oblique poles outline an irregular construction in the center of the canvas. The sheets of net fall between them like large light sails. On the left, the dark coast closes the horizon; on the right, small silhouettes of boats punctuate the sea.

The foreground is occupied by gray-blue rocks and white waves whose curves intertwine. The sky mixes pink, cream and pale blue, while the nets take on purple nuances. Short, arched touches circulate the movement of the water into the air.

The nets appear both monumental and almost immaterial: their pattern stands out from the landscape while allowing the colors of the sky and the sea to pass through.

The sky, coast and sea remain visible through the nets. These therefore do not interrupt the landscape; they superimpose a flexible design on its depth.

A movement constructed by curved touches

The whites of the foam and the greens of the water follow short, repeated arcs. The same rhythm is found in the nets, unifying the textile material and the marine surface.

They form neither grid nor perfectly parallel series. Their inclinations give the device its fragility and organize the passage of the gaze towards the horizon.

Preserve the purple tint of the fillets

The main net is not white. Evening roses and purples connect it to the sky while making it visible in front of the blue-green sea.

Keep dark rocks in the foreground

These gray-blue masses give weight to the lower part and reinforce, by contrast, the almost airy lightness of the suspended nets.
