Prairie absorbs children in flower and herb material

The field occupies more than half of the composition and rises to the figures. The long vertical touches in the foreground suggest tall stems; further on, they tighten and change scale, causing children to move back towards the edge.

On the left, a large clump of dark trees enters the image and forms an irregular vault. The center remains more open around an isolated tree, then the right group closes the horizon; the pink gray sky appears between these silhouettes without becoming a simple background.

The children do not trigger any specific anecdote: their small size measures the height of the grass and makes the meadow, its light and its suggested scent the real subject.
